On 20 May 2026, the FPAM Annual Signature Financial Planning Symposium 2026, themed “Bridging the Gap: From Blueprint to Reality”, brought together a distinguished gathering of wealth management professionals at M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The event attracted participants from private banks, asset management firms, securities companies and other key sectors of the financial services industry, fostering meaningful dialogue on the future of financial planning in an increasingly complex world.

We are proud that our Inheritance and Succession Partner, Ms. Farah Deba, who also serves as Chairperson of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Malaysia, was invited to deliver the symposium’s opening session. Her presentation, “Challenges in Planning for Future Generations: The Unknown Factor in Private Wealth” explored the evolving realities and unpredictable factors that families and advisers face in preserving and transferring wealth across generations.

In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, Ms. Farah shared insights on how various factors such as shifting family structures, religious conversions, economic volatility and cross-border relocation of heirs can influence the successful transfer of wealth across generations. She discussed why anticipating change, embracing adaptability and planning beyond today’s realities are essential to preserving wealth and ensuring continuity for future beneficiaries.

The symposium also featured an impressive line-up of expert presentations and a thought-provoking panel discussion led by leading voices in the industry. Topics explored included Navigating the Web3 Frontier: Asset Tokenization and Its Transformative Impact on Malaysian Financial Planning, Financial Planning in the Age of AI: Navigating Risks While Protecting the Client-Planner Relationship, The Psychology of Money: What Really Drives Financial Decisions and Navigating the Most Pressing Challenges in Modern Wealth Planning: From Plan to Action.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) for the opportunity given to share our insights alongside fellow industry leaders.
