Background
Chong Pei began her legal career with the firm. Upon obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Multimedia University in 2013, she read and completed her pupillage in this firm under the tutelage of Mr. Andrew Teh. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya in July 2014. She has since then been one of the principal members of the firm’s dispute resolution team.
Chong Pei has a broad practice that encompasses a wide range of areas of law, with a particular focus on debt recovery, employment law, insurance law, family law, construction law, strata management, compulsory acquisition and tort law. She is also familiar with the procedures on enforcement of judgments.
She gains vast experience especially by having the opportunity given by the firm to act for prominent clients. Through the years being attached to the firm, she is skilled and familiar with the procedures in filing and defending civil suits in the courts of Malaysia and the conduct of legal research in assisting the clients to support or defend the claims. She also has experience in conducting proceedings in the strata management tribunal and the adjudication proceedings.
While practising as an active civil litigator, Chong Pei endeavours alternative dispute resolution method and has been certified as a mediator registered with the Malaysian International Mediation Centre since 2018. With her training in mediation, she is able to offer the clients the most cost and time effective solutions with empathy while safeguarding the clients’ best legal interests.
